Requirements

For Air Player you need a Raspberry Pi 2 or higher. This installation tutorial will guide you through the steps necessary to get Air Player running on your Pi. A video tutorial will follow later.

* Raspberry Pi
* (micro) SD card, 8GB or higher
* (micro) SD card reader
* Display connected to your Pi
* Windows PC with Air Manager 3.0 (needed once to configure the Pi)
* Working ethernet connection between the PC and the Pi
* Internet connection

Steps

1. Download & install the Air Player system image

The Air Player system image is a copy of the entire state of the Raspberry Pi system stored in one single file. Writing this image to your SD card is almost everything you have to do, you do not have to download the Raspbian Weezy operating system.

2. Running Air Player

When you have installed the image file to the SD card, you can insert the SD card in your Raspberry Pi and power it up.

3. Activating Air Player license

Once Air Manager 3.x on the desktop and Air Player 3.x on the Raspberry Pi are running, go to the Devices tab in Air Manager. All the active Air Player applications are listed there.

Select the Raspberry Pi which is not activated yet. The Raspberry Pi will be listed as Unknown with a small Raspberry Pi logo in front.

Once you have selected the unlicensed Raspberry Pi you will see, on the top right side, two buttons: Buy and Activate.

Click Activate.

In the pop-up window click Next.

Use the following login details (all capital letters!):

Select Air Player Premium and click Activate.

Your Raspberry Pi Air Player beta license has now been activated and is valid for one month.
