This section describes how to install Air Player.

Windows

1. Download Air Player

Download Air Player here here.

2. Install Air Player

Run the downloaded Air Player executable and follow the on-screen instructions.

By default, Air Player will install in the "Program Files" folder. A shortcut will be created on the desktop.

Mac OS

1. Download Air Player

Download Air Player here.

2. Install Air Player

Mount the downloaded image, and drag the Air Player DMG file to your applications folder.

You can now start Air Player from your applications folder.

Linux

Follow these steps to install Air Player on your Linux system.

1. Download Air Player

Download Air Player for Intel or AMD chips (regular PC) here.

Download Air Player for ARM 32 bit (e.g. Raspberry Pi 32 bit OS) here.

Download Air Player for ARM 64 bit (e.g. Raspberry Pi 64 bit OS) here.

2. Unzip the downloaded Air Player zip file somewhere on your Linux system

3. Run the included Linux setup as root. This will install the required libraries.

sudo sh ./setup.sh

4. Start Air Player

./Bootloader

For I/O support on the Raspberry Pi run Bootloader as root (sudo ./Bootloader).

To auto start Air Player at boot, you will have to edit the autostart file. More information for the Raspberry Pi specific can be found here.

Example:

@/home/pi/airplayer/Bootloader

Note that the directory path above is just an example, and is dependent on where you have Air Player installed.
