Knobster resets when scrolling quickly

Using Air Manager 4.2.1 on FS2020...I will select a knob for the Knobster to control, and when "spinning it quickly" (e.g. setting a heading bug, scrolling to a new altitude) it will disconnect/connect (the USB "chime" from Windows 11 will come on) and freeze the game for 10-20 seconds before returning. Not a big deal, but a bit of an immersion killer and only started happening on my new (ironically more powerful) PC. Wondering about some debug methods for this?

Have you tried a different USB port?

Yes, was on a hub so I thought that was the initial issue, but it is now plugged directly into a USB port wired to the mobo. Same issue.
