Hi, @Corjan

Inspector Keith has got it..

The duplicates were created when two video streams were causing CTD This is the time I was testing the CTD

From here you can see that only those two instruments were duplicated. Those are the instruments I was using.

In my opinion these duplicates are been created on CTD? I would think that instead of "saving" the instrument it is "creating" a new instrument. That would be my guess.

Hopes that helps.

Hi @Corjan

If you look at this image, it look like the gap between the group name and the first instrument, is 3 instrument entries.

Could those three empty gap lines be the duplicate UUID's ?
Each instrument is in the 'group', one has 2 duplicates and the other 1 duplicate.

@Corjan

Tony @Sling , Sorry for taking this OT. Did not intend to post a bug but I thought it was related.
Here are the two XML files for
3e937153-c39b-41ed-0e07-a0b27d6c6849
info.xml
(941 Bytes) Downloaded 43 times
info.xml
(941 Bytes) Downloaded 42 times
It looks like AM is writing duplicate xml files because the
"C:\Users\Keith\Air Manager BETA\instruments\OPEN_DIRECTORY" has only one entry for 3e937153-c39b-41ed-0e07-a0b27d6c6849

Hope that assists.

Not sure exactly what you mean @Corjan Filter by instruments from a certain create/edit group is how I read it. That would help with the selection when adding instruments to a panel but it doesn’t help solve the merging of all the instruments into one big unordered list again in the main instruments list. You have to find what you want in there before you can add it to a group and I want to know from the many hundreds what are mine and what I’ve downloaded or imported from elsewhere. The personal tag was perfect for that but some other form of selective marking would also work.

+1 👍
Without proper sorting, I will not be able to find those are mine too ... 😅

Hi,

Yeah, for the first time you have to find them and manually add them to a group, that is true.

Try that with over a 1000 instruments especially when you don’t really know what you are looking for.

Hi,

This first image is before I deleted the the two instruments that had duplicate xml files. Note the blank lines.
ice_screenshot_20231129-164258.png
After exporting the two instruments I imported them and added them to the group. There were no duplicate UUID in the instrument list. This is what happened. They were placed top of list.
ice_screenshot_20231129-175024.png
I then shut down AM and restarted. This is what happened. A sort reshuffle. Should this sort not be dynamic?
ice_screenshot_20231129-175918.png
My Question is. How do I find out what those blank lines are? and how do i delete them?
What file shows the group entry's so that I can look at and delete the unwanted blank entries? ?

I also had a "." instrument without folders. That I was able to delete within AM.
I thought that "." instrument creation was sorted. getting old, cannot rem.

Not saying anything more than : both info.xml are strictly the same

Gilles, Exactly.

How were the duplicates created? Not me.

I am sure Corjan will look into it and revert. I think he now has enough to go by to give us a resolve /fix.
