Right now, only API functions are in there.
But maybe it would be possible for AM to parse the lua code to find all functions (and maybe variables...).

Don't think I will go with the floating windows thing.
Makes it more complicated to build, and it is a verry messy way to do things, by having multiple windows floating about.

With the new design, you already have way more space for the code.
Both horizontal (by making left menu bar smaller) and vertically, since ribbon bar will be gone.

You still have the option to go with an external editor. No way that AM will be able to fully replace an external editor,

Corjan,

Yes.... You told me long ago. I can try my luck again. :D

In AM4.2 one has a option to close/expand the editor, Console and Subscriptions. You might call it resize the viewing area.
This image shows the minimum size one is allowed to resize AM. It also shows that one cannot close/resize the left instrument tree.

If we cannot have floating pop out windows then can we at lease have the ability to resize windows to show only what we want to see and use? Please.

Keith

EDIT: Note sure the empty spaces are a bug in the group tree? Seems a new bug. I do not rem it there in beta 28.

Something else that was surprisingly easy to add, and also quite usefull, is this:

You can show the window by pressing ctrl+space.

Also part of AM 4.3,

Hi,

Another one I would like is to have a option in the instrument right click pop up context menu. The one where instruments can be added to groups and the menu bar is basically reproduced.
"Used in"
This gives indication as to what panels this instrument is used in.

Thinking about it. Can't this pop up be used as a floating window?

Ok, Ok... just trying my luck.

It will open that API function's webpage on the wiki,

Hi,

In the new design, you will be able to close the left bar further, to the point that you only see the icons, not the text.
That should help a bit compared to AM 4.2.

Not sure about your picture about the console, subscriptions. You are already able to fold that away completely.

Corjan, Yes I can.
To be able to fold away all the pages would be Awesome.

Yes We can currently fold away
1) Editor
2) Console
3) Subscription

Subscription .

Your goal is to get as much space for the code right?

Corjan,

No... I want to hide the text editor because I use Notepad++

I want to be able to collapse everything and then just expand what I want to use.

The text editor does collapse the console and subscription a bit. I would prefer that it is totally collapsible.

Hi,

It might also be nice to have a "save skin" and a "use skin" option.

That way users can set up different skins with collapsed windows and just swap between their configurations.

I can try and do some mock ups if you do not understand. Let me know.

Keith

EDIT: Thinking about it. It would be nice to have a skin option menu that gives the option to show/hide a page in the "Setting" page.
In other words if I want to show just the text editor then that box is checked. If I wanted to show the test bar then that box is also checked. And if I want to show the console then that box is also checked.

In other words I would like the ability to resize a page as well as show hide pages/menus.

As I said... The ability to name and save these configs would be awesome.
