SOLVED: Air Manager troubles with Air Player after new Raspberry Pi software update.

#1 Post by nnyerges »

Hello My Friends.

For many months now I have been using my Air Manager on a Raspberry Pi with no problem, but with a recent RPI update, it's a new nightmare on the table.

I don't know where to start, but there are many, beginning that Air Manager goes crazy.

1- To begin with, the panel that I had programmed had a black background and when it is now opened in Air Player it is WHITE.
2- As soon as you make any changes in Air Manager on the panel in Air Player (while in HOME), the connection is cut off and Air Manager never sees the Air Player "if it is running" normally on the Raspberry, but no matter how many Sometimes you open Air Manager, from then on you don't see it. The only way is to reboot the Rasperry and start from scratch. The normal thing is that if an X device is running Air Player, when you open Air Manager, it should see it, but no, it doesn't until you reboot Air Player.
3- You send a HIDE to Air Manager and everything is blocked, both on the Air Manager side and on the Air Player side.
4- As soon as you open Air Manager and try to change something in the Air Player while in HOME, the program (Air Manager) crashes and closes without any notifications.
5- Air Manager in edit/create, run/stop works fine, but as soon as you try to make a change in the panel, it still crashes and closes the Air Manager. The Air Player is still working. When you open the Air Manager again it doesn't see it. Again, the only solution is to reboot the Air Player.

Conclusion, it became a mess after the new updates.

Solved by reloading last microSD image (rollback).

NO Ralph. There are still new problems. Now I don't know if it's after the last Air Manager update, but AM keeps shutting down only when trying to make any changes to the Air Player panels on any of the Raspberry PIs that worked perfectly before.

Also, something new I noticed that sudo ./Bootloader no longer boots at startup like before (AP doesn't load as "root", only as user, so you never see the panel unless you reboot the RPI or manually run sudo ./bootloader command.

I'm still investigating what's going on.

Re: Air Manager troubles with Air Player after new Raspberry Pi software update. (SOLUTION)

#6 Post by nnyerges »

1. Changing cd ‘direname $0’ to --> cd /home/pi/<your_user_air_player_folder> in the start_airplayer.sh file, solves the autostart.

2. Not messing to much arround with editing, updating instruments direct in Air Player, solve the Air Manager getting "mad" and crash. The best advice its to make all changes inside Air Manager, test int in your computer, and then "push" the new panel or instrument changes to Air Player instead of doing it direct on Air Player (obvius?)

Have a nice weekend!
