#1 Post by bigcactus »

Hi.
I'm running AM on Linux PC and AP on RPi.
How can I flash Knobster to NANO.
I don't have windows AM licence nor windows PC at all.

Best regards

At least a DIY Knobster (not the original Knobster) will not work without Air Manager, if this is was what you were expecting !?!

You don't need a license, but you do need a Windows PC.

I don't have any Windows PC last 15 years.
I am retired electronic engineer and have programed all kinds of Arduinos.
On Linux hex file can be flashed very easily.
Why Sim Innovation don't release knobster hex to download.

I am sure you can install windows on suitable hardware (if you have any ?). Besides, you will then have a good quality operating system to work from. ;)
You do not need a windows 10 licence to install and use windows 10. It is completely free to install and use.
You will then be 15 years more up to date with technology.

Linux users are a 1% or less of all users. So I guess it is a cost-benefit story.

Exactly,
Even then , linux, is not 'linux' , it is a totally non standard 'standard' that makes it a nightmare to produce anything for.
People talk about 'using 'linux' as if they are using a standardised OS. That is absolutely the last thing they are using.
What they tend to have is a 'pick n mix' from the Wallmart 'broken biscuit' counter.
That is why Vulkan is dying on it's feet as their is no such thing as 'linux' gaming etc.
Iinux HOME users as proportion of OS distribution make up far far FAR less than 1%. Linux is amazing for certain server and specialist applications and increases the perceived number of 'systems' in use. But on a 'home use' daily driver' usage. It hardly registers.

OK
I give up.
It's waste of time to educate windows centric people.
