7 segment display Pin outs?
Does anyone around this forum know what the pinouts are for this 7 segment display?
...or where I can find the datasheet?

Re: 7 segment display Pin outs?
Available on the Ali Express product page. But it depends if you have the common cathode or anode version...

Hi,
It is also important what drive the display. Right or left address is also a consideration.

The image I posted is from the Aliexpress product page. Could not find a link to any datasheets.
What I have is Common Cathode according to the order form when I purchased them.
However, if I decide to add a display for the Nav / COMM radios wouldn't it be better to get some 5 digit modules?

Using a Max7219 indexes from the right using AM. So using AM, In the image @Ralph posted output 7 of the MAX 7219 would drive DIG1
And this is one of the issues I have with the MAX7219 Implementation in AM. AM uses generic boards and not the IC. Something @Corjan needs to revisit.

Re: 7 segment display Pin outs?
I understand about half of what you wrote.
Does that diagram work with my common cathode unit?
I will have to search the internet for info on how to fill in the blanks for connecting (2) 3-digit displays to the Max7219 CNG and to AM.
Thanks...

Using a MAX7219 with AM coding DIG0 is the right most digit.
Using the common 8 digit max combo boards it is left addressed LEFT.

So does all of that mean I can't do what I want to do with (2) 3-digit 7-segment displays and the driver I have?Keith Baxter wrote: ↑Sun Dec 04, 2022 5:53 pmHi,Kaellis991 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 04, 2022 5:40 pm I understand about half of what you wrote.

Using a MAX7291 with AM coding DIG0 is the right most digit.
Using the common 8 digit max combo boards it is left addressed LEFT.
Keith
I need only 6 digits for a frequency display assuming the decimal point is a digit.

Yes. Just wiring the MAX7219 to the displays reverse. In other words dig0 and dig1 on the max7219 would be NC.
