Searching for Flight Simulator...

#1 Post by MarkAClements »

I'm wondering if the latest update to MSFS broke Air Manager? I am up-to-date on Air Manager and have gone through the "Connection Problems" document on the Wiki. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Update : I manually launched the FS2020 Bridge service and that worked. Seems like I have to do that each time.

No. Everything working fine here. There was a time when the bridge would need to be stopped and started again like you did when things stopped responding but that has not been required for quite a while now. If all the AM stuff is up to date then perhaps Windows is playing games like it tends to do from time to time.

A good habit would be to exclude both "FS2020BridgeService.exe" process name and "C:\Program Files\FS2020BridgeService" folder name from Windows Defender and/or any other real-time security scan tool, in order to avoid the implicit lock/release decay time, when the Operating System see the executable and path will be used on launch. This occurs systematically and if not excluded, may bring some unexpected issue.

I was getting similar issues, tried reinstalling AirManager & Plugin, disabling firewall, rebooting etc, but no luck...

 Then in AirManager I went into settings and clicked "clear persistence" and restarted and it starting working with a clean looking log...

Code: Select all

Prior to doing the "clear persistence" I was getting lots of SimBusServer errors.

I've never seen those SimBusServer INFO messagaes until just now so it's looking like everything's working 100% ok now (no errors in log). :)

 I also have to manually start C:\Program Files\FS2020BridgeService\FS2020BridgeService.exe

Persistence has nothing to do with the flight simulator connection, so that sounds like a coincidence.

Are you using the beta plugin?

I had that issue before. In my experience just stop process on task manager, delete the plugin's folder and reinstall it. It should do it.
