AM 172 panel with FS2020 'basic' version ? - does it work ?

#1 Post by jph »

Hi
I believe there is only the garmin based 172 with the msfs2020 'basic' game. Does the AM paid 172 steam gauge panel work with this aircraft ?
Thanks

The EGT should be a matter of adjusting the setting of the instrument.

That is an msfs issue with non available data yes ?
I presume that would be the same for any version of the 172 - even the actual steam gauge msfs version ?
thanks,

No the data is available. But the EGT value varies between simulator, developer, etc... When Laminar changed their EGT value 3 times in a row, FSX had different values, etc... I decided to make a setting that lets you set the temperature of the top of the scale.

That's great thanks. I thought that was probably the case as I remember reading something about the egt before.

Thanks Ralph, I've not thought of it and not even tried to search specific setting while doing a quick testing. Point learned !

While the discussion has been focused on the EGT FS2020 sim for the 172 it looks to be the same instrument for the Xplane and the Laminar C172SP. The EGT does not function. The datarefs are active but the needle does not respond. Appreciate comments on this. Bill

Same story, adjust the max EGT value in the instrument settings.
