Ralph I will do a video.

Give me a few minuites.

I did some investigation a day or so ago and found funny things. Cannot rem exactly but it looked like you guys had some dev instruments. Think they were in a .json.
Cannot reproduce so just for info.
It would seem that these are default store instruments not yet released or something. Just speculating here because they are in the non personal section. If they were created by me then they should be set as personal. I have no idea how to access these instruments.
Personal instruments...

@Corjan
Hi,

I did a bit of digging this morning. I made a backup of the instrument OPEN_DIRECTORY and then deleted all the instruments in it. I want to start adding them back to try and find those instruments that have a "."

When I started AM, at first there were no instruments in the OPEN_DIRECTORY folder. Then AM automatically added back all the panel instruments. I will delete the panels and start over later on to try and find the culprits.

However, at this time there are no "." instruments and the search is working.

I am telling you this now so that you do not waist time trying to find the issue. Let me find the culprit instruments and send them off to you so that you have better knowledge of what is happening.

Hi, @Corjan

Ok I found the issue. If there is a UUID folder that is empty then the search falls over and if you try and select it in create/edit you get CTD.

How these instrument folders became empty is another story but at least you know the cause and can add a fix.

EDIT: I checked the below UUID's and did not find them in any of my backup folders. For interest sake, might be an idea to check if these instruments exist.

They're not ours. Corjan is going to make a few fixes today, to hopefully get it stable enough for FS Weekend. After that we'll continue testing and bug fixing.

Just found yesterday a weird issue making instrument to be duplicated, what's on around AM Database, currently with AM 4.2 Beta 3 ???
[EDIT 1] I've checked at the moment, for each pair, one by one, the UUID is the same, so really and definitely an internal AM issue around the Database management
[EDIT 2] @Corjan, just seen last Beta 4 at the moment, just to highlight latest current issues we found, still to be fixed ...

Hi,

I found one UUID that is weird.

C:\Users\Keith\Air manager BETA\instruments\OPEN_DIRECTORY\14c9611d-944e-4473-afd6-1345e0999fdb\14c9611d-944e-4473-afd6-1345e0999fdb

When I searched for it this is what I found.

Any news about the display streams? At the Citation X CDU is still the only working one.
Thanks and regards,

What do you find 'weird' about that Keith ?. It (looking like windows search) simply appears to be picking up the UUID from a copy of the directory you have on your D Drive in your self-made backup directory.

Hi,
Yes it is a simple windows search of the original instruments\OPEN_DIRECTORY folder.

I am suppressed that there is a UUID folder within a UUID folder and a duplicate of the same instrument within the OPEN_DIRECTORY copy.
Question is.... Who created it????
My first guess is the the PANEL module within AM. When I deleted my OPEN_DIRECTORY folder content, but not my panels, and restarted AM, AM automatically added all the instruments within the panels.

This is consistant with what @SimPassion is reporting.
Instrument within a panel are duplicated in the OPEN_DIRECTORY folder

This I reported back in post #42 When the entire OPEN_DIRECTORY folder was deleted and instruments were automatically added to the OPEN_DIRECTORY folder. Some sort of bug here i suspect and "may be " a bit of corruption of files.

I had one empty UUID that had a PNG file in it. I will look for that instrument and see if exists. I sure hope this is an isolated incident and not affected other instruments.

Anyway this is for @Corjan benefit. I am sure he understands.
