gear lights - reds

#1 Post by AlyMac »

Might be a nice gesture to put in RED lights for gear up.
Greens and transit light work well thanks :-)

Uhm... This is not a lot of information... Not really sure what you're talking about.

Hi Ralph,
Sorry for the late reply but Ive been working abroad.

The LED's work great with the Arduino, however-

Many aircraft have 2 - sometimes 3 RED lights for gear "Up and Locked - as well as having 2 or 3 GREEN Lights for down and locked.

For example my beloved DC-3's had two GREENS for "Down and Locked", a single AMBER (sometimes RED) for "Gear in Transit" and two RED for "GEAR UP and Locked".
The DC-6 had 3 Greens AND 3 REDS plus the In Transit in Amber and I think the DC-4 was the same.

It would be great (for me at least) - to have a further option for Left and Right LED outputs for Gear "UP and Locked" for my DC-3 and my upcoming DC-4 Cockpit panel to have 3 reds and 3 greens.

If I understand your question right - it depends on the sim output.
If you find the correct output data (e.g. datarefs) you are free to do whatever you want with the pins&LEDs (and maybe programm some logic into them as well).

I can see that this will probably be beyond my skills. Thanks for the reply
