Frequent AirPlayer crashes

#1 Post by Serge Luke »

AirPlayer on a second PC frequently crushes. I suspect it might be due to some instruments, but it might be some other reason. This is the same one that frequently has trouble connecting to Air Manager over the lan. I'm keeping the PC up to date, and not burdened with any other work; its sole job is to run two touch screens with instruments.

Any ideas how to make it more stable?

Does the whole application stop/disappear, does it halt, or...?

The Air Player icon in Air Manager becomes shaded, and all panels under it disappear. On the Celeron PC that runs the Air Player, active panel sometimes remains on screen, other times it is gone. The Air Player icon in "hidden" icons tray remains until you click on it, then it disappears too.

Are you running the latest version? Any instruments you made yourself? Did you check the log.txt ?

Ralph,

I don't see log.txt in the folder where Air Player is installed.

Few days ago, I reinstalled Air Player 4.1 and at first run it downloaded an update.

If you're running it on Windows then the log is in C:/users/your username/Air Player/

But are you running and self created instruments?

To add to Ralph's statement, we can perform a right click on Air Player device from Home tab, then choose "Downlod log", very useful to avoid to search from remote devices

That's indeed an easier option.

Simpassion and Ralph,

thank you. Here are a couple of log files. I don't have the log of the crush, because once AP crushes, I can't access the log in the way it is described. Interesting details in the log. How can this be fixed?

I have not written my instruments, but I have cloned and modified many to work with some airliners, mostly for knob operations.
