Hi Ralph, it was an academic question really as from google searches there is no HID support for CDC class on any PI OS. As far as I can tell it is the same in any general linux as well (No CDC class).
I don't think adding a second complete PC to support more than 16 PICO devices is good logic. I also cannot see any reason that it could not be increased ?
There is absolutely no limitation of concern with USB ports / end points / devices. It is not 'serial port' so you have none of the issues around serial comms. It is also the cheapest and by far the most logical and capable device available to run with Air Manager for I/O.
Please can you consider ways of increasing the allowable number.
It would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

Another option to the Pico W,
A couple of ESP32-S3 Dual core 32 bit, WIFI & Bluetooth (8MB Flash plus 512K on board ram plus 2MB PSRAM (just arrived) and a couple of PICOs alongside them -Picos are Dual core ARM 32bit 2 MB Flash and 264K RAM, the PICOs are the size of a nano for comparison.
Both will run at 240 MHz :o Both have more flash and ram than you can shake a stick at.
Just over 4 euros for the pico including taxes (€4,49) no serial port trauma, uses HID CDC direct to AM.
(I need a better camera,,) ;)
