Air Played greyed out in Air Manager

#1 Post by jr2mey »

Hello,

I am running Air Manager on one computer, and the airplayer on another computer. We have successfully in the past been able to load up a panel in airplayer and push to the remote computer. We can no longer access the airplayer in air manager. The airplayer in the air manager is greyed out and does not allow us to interact with the program what so ever. Crazy thing is that our panel in the remote computer DOES interact with xplane 11 without issue. We are just locked out from making any changes in the airplayer through the air manager due to it being greyed out. Anyone got any ideas? We already have verified the plugin, verified the network, even to manual input the IP addresses...

Thank you in advance,

James

Hi, welcome to the forums.
I am sure Ralph will offer suggestions, but in the mean time you can double check your network connection by opening either a powershell or cmd session (Windows)
Also to note that AirPlayer will work fully independently of Air Manager AFTER it has been configured which is why it is working,

to test the connection (after ensuring you have the right IP address (You can use the command ipconfig in powershell to check that - Make certain you have selected the correct adapter)

RIGHT Click on the start button and then select Windows Powershell
When powershell opens enter ping <ipaddress of iplayer box>

as in the example below - change the IP address to suit
PS C:\Users\Joe> ping 192.168.1.122

you should see a response and reply as below

Pinging 192.168.1.122 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.1.122: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=128
Reply from 192.168.1.122: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=128
Reply from 192.168.1.122: bytes=32 time=4ms TTL=128
Reply from 192.168.1.122: bytes=32 time=8ms TTL=128

Ping statistics for 192.168.1.122:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 1ms, Maximum = 8ms, Average = 3ms
PS C:\Users\Joe>

that shows that your PC can see the other PC on the network. (at least at ICMP level)

You said you had manually configured the network so also, if the above works, they check the firewall -
with Windows you can temporarily disable 'Defender'
Open settings, update and security, windows security, firewall and network protection, Private network and then slide the on off slider to off. This temporarilly disable the firewall. (It will auto re-enable if you forget to re-enable it) - now test again.

Is automatically connect to Air Player devices turned on in the Air Manager Settings tab? Or it is connected to a different Air Manager in the network.
