Pi3b lagging when running 2 G5s on wifi

#1 Post by Dibenchr »

Anyone having issues with Pi3b lagging with G5’s? I have a heat sink with a fan enclosure for the Pi which is driving a standard hdmi monitor. It is connected to WiFi.

Thanks.

That's too much for the Pi, the G5 is quite an intensive instrument. You can try running your monitor at a lower resolution if that is possible.

By the way, it can also be the WiFi. You'll find out if you turn on the FPS indication.

FPS is 15. The last two digits on the G5 altimeter do not show up, same for the airspeed. After a few minutes it starts getting laggy but FPS stays at 14 or 15. Assuming that means my WiFi is not supplying enough data.

Simply test this by connecting it via ethernet to your hub - or router

Disappearing running text means that it can't keep up. It's too much for the Pi. As I said, you can try scaling down the resolution of the screen, that might help.
