Robinson R44 Raven II

#1 Post by Mickolodias »

Hey hey

Been working on some instruments for Robinson R44 Raven II to work with VSKYLABS model and the freeware from Brett S.
Here's the panel I'm flying with:
R44_Panel.png
A large chunk is instruments already available in Air Manager.
The console gauges I've adapted from @HeliEngineer's R22 work. And I've been working on the switches.
Fuel, hydraulics and even the mixture control probably not needed for most, but in my case I run a 49" wide screen for X-Plane( usually just forward view with no cockpit) and another monitor and an ipad for the panels, so for startup and shutdown it's handy to have these.
Hopefully the gauges and and main switch panel will make their way to the iPad release so I can put them there rather than on the main panel screen :D

If anyone with some graphics skill beyond the bare basics is willing to help me out with the ignition key... your help would be much obliged :)

Any thoughts, comments ideas welcome!

The ignition switch looks okay. The clutch switch can be better :)

How about this?

The legendary @HeliEngineer sent me some close up photos of the R44 console!
From that I could get the clutch guard a bit better. Not perfect, but I think it's alright :D (for a coder with not much graphics skill anyway!)

And nah no way - the ignition sux... wip

I think it's lookin alright :)

I'm asking about defaults on ipad/android because I found it's not hard to give users some options to customise a little :) But need some solid defaults when they can't be changed.

The iPad uses the default setting for user properties. What I did with a radio (I reverted this eventually) was using a button to switch between these and use persistence, so not the user property.

I'm going through all the fonts, and saw that you use a Arial font. These fonts are not allowed to be used for commercial use.
I have changed one to Arimo Bold, which is included with Air Manager. But it is probably better if you do it and resubmit, so it is approved by you.

So preferably one of the included fonts, and if not then a open source font which is allowed for commercial use.

Ah bugger, I didn't even think of that.
Arimo looks pretty much the same, but yeah I'll change it and resubmit
