Air Player enable SSH

#1 Post by bmcmullan »

Ralph will probably say there's already a link or video about this... but, not finding that myself, here's some more "noob" instructions!

YOUR SSH may ALREADY be enabled in the build, but if it is not....

Taken from https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... ccess/ssh/

Make SSH work ONCE until next reboot
- Take your Air Player Raspberry Pi image SD card and insert in PC
- The boot volume of the SD should appear as volume on PC, eg drive "H:" appears
- create a file named ssh in the SD boot volume
- - NOT ssh.txt, just ssh
- - if you don't see file extensions in Windows, see https://www.howtohaven.com/system/show- ... orer.shtml
- reinsert SD card in Pi and boot it up
- SSH server will be running until next reboot
- putty client is supposed to work, but it would not for me! But, the bitvise client worked first time.
- - get putty or bitvise client (free) at http://www.putty.org/
- default credentials are pi / raspberry

Enable SSH to run all the time
- once in your one time ssh session
- type sudo raspi-config, a menu will appear
- - select Interfacing Options
- - select SSH, choose YES, select OK, choose Finish
- ssh will now be running on next reboot

Hello Cherokee83

bmcmullan has already answered this in first post :
- default credentials are pi / raspberry
so user = pi
password = raspberry

best regards
Gilles

[EDIT] Corrected to avoid misleading
