Air Manager 5.0 STEC Auto Pilot
Air Manager 5.0 STEC Auto Pilot
I have xPlane 11.x and Air Manager 5.0.1.
Recent upgrade from AM 4.2.
Purchased C182T and G5 premium panels.
After upgrade to Air Manager 5.0 the auto pilot function of my STEC 55X quit working.
The STEC 55X shows "loading" in the Air Manager configuration screen for my C182T.
I made a copy of the C182T premium panel, removed the STEC 55X and add the generic KAP 140.
Still no joy, auto pilot doesn't work (won't do basic functions like hold altitude or track the heading bug.
All worked fine before upgrade to 5.0.
When I remove the KAP140 and try to add the STEC 55X back in it doesn't appear in my instruments.
When looking at the KAP 140 or STEC 55X there don't appear to be any configuration settings for the instrument that would help my situation.

Re: Air Manager 5.0 STEC Auto Pilot
I'm experiencing a similar problem only coming at it from a different direction.
I updated my 4.x.x version (I've forgotten the exact version) almost immediately on setting up AM.
5.0 was on offer so I took that route. I'm sure I would have been fine with the 4.x.x version as a recent thread yielded a reply from one of our group that featured the S-Tec 55 A/P. Look for the thread "AM 5.0 a knobster and XPlane 12" posted just before you posted this query. The example screenshot is from AM 4.2.12 and definitely shows access to the S-Tec Autopilot.
Just another example of jumping the gun - it never pays to be the first into updates.
My question, now: is it possible to revert to a previous version of Air Manager.
Should a similar thread be started in 'bug reports'?
I'm very new to this forum. I promise to put together a proper signature file.

Re: Air Manager 5.0 STEC Auto Pilot
Thanks for your reply. I'm thinking the same thing, how do I go back to 4.2.
I've run into another issue with 5.0, my trim indicator is way off. Take off "neutral" trim is about half way nose up on the indicator.
I see in other posts that you can't run 4.x and 5.x in parallel, I would be happy just to get back to 4.2 if that is possible without loosing my configured panels.

Re: Air Manager 5.0 STEC Auto Pilot
I've opened a support ticket to either get this fixed or move back to 4.2.

Thanks @paulcrist .
Do you think it would help if I opened a support ticket as well? Maybe multiple requests will yield better attention to this problem
I'll look forward to any results from your support ticket. Please report here.

I confirm, they're present with 4.2.12, not with AM 5 (Beta 28 for me)Keith Baxter wrote: ↑Mon Mar 17, 2025 5:55 pmHi,Quickmarch wrote: ↑Mon Mar 17, 2025 4:13 pm Thanks @paulcrist .

Re: Air Manager 5.0 STEC Auto Pilot
Thank you @SimPassion
There is now no doubt, thanks to your search, that I cannot use that instrument in AM5.0. Now updated to 5.0.2 (further down the Rabbit hole) - still no S-Tec instrument listed. Strange that an instrument in common use in X-Plane does not seem to be supported by AM. Maybe sometime in the future.
Now experiencing additional problems that have rendered AM unusable - subject for another post.

Re: Air Manager 5.0 STEC Auto Pilot
You are aware that it is called S-Tec and not Stec? I have no issue finding it in 5.0.
And it is no longer part of the Cessna 182 panel, because there's no 182 in the simulator that has an S-Tec, as far as I know.

Re: Air Manager 5.0 STEC Auto Pilot
Hi,
Teach me how to search please.

I also don't find.
Is it not marked as a premium instrument perhaps? I think there are quite a few missing.
Keith
EDIT: Is it not also part of the 414A? This missing instrument.
