1 - not sure if we all follow ??? 😉

2 - Together with the point I would only trigger the Windows privilege escalation, only at the time when the plugin for FS2020 / Flight Simulator X and Prepar{3|4|5|6}d will be installed, which is fine as the administrator rights had always been a concern for these sims through years, however the X-Plane install is only a current user install and execution context concern and NEVER required administrators rights for install and run as it's based on file structure across multiple platforms, not on Windows registry in any case unlike most of Windows programs. In its current state the Flight simulator plugin install is looking for administrator environment and force us to troubleshoot and fix the situation on our own, as shown below :

my user environment for installing and running X-Plane is "Simu" user
the Flight simulator plugin install for Air Manager is using "admin" environment

3 - Additionally as the install isn't performing right, atm, it doesn't see my second X-Plane install location which is available from my current "Simu" user profile folder, which indeed the installer would have found if it had opened the X-Plane installer file from there ...

Code: Select all

Looking for X-plane file at path: C:\Users\admin\AppData\Local\x-plane_install_12.txt
Looking for X-plane folder at path: D:\X-Plane 12/
Found X-plane directory at path: D:\X-Plane 12/
Successfully installed the X-plane plugin in directory: D:\X-Plane 12/
