Video Export is laggy and low framerate

#1 Post by Roger01 »

Hello!

I tested several different ways (several screens or just one, different export sizes etc.) and video export via Air Manager works well but has a bit of latency (see the difference on the screen) and a rather low FPS rate despite Air Manager's 60 fps (also tested at 30 fps, idem).
I tested with the plugin in 4.1 and 4.2 Beta.
Am I the only one with this little problem? Can I improve things a bit?
The other "classic" Air Manager instruments (such as an MCP) work perfectly and without lag.
Thanks a lot!
My code :
video_stream_id = video_stream_add("xpl/gauges[1]",0, 0, 720,720, 0,1540, 520,520)

--set 'sim/private/controls/panel/always_render' to 1
--set 'sim/private/controls/perf/cockpit_kill_dist' to 30000

There will always be a slight lag. But I suppose that it also comes down to the hardware. So how fast can it write all the pixesl, encode, decode, etc... It will probably not be the magic solution for each device.

Thanks for the reply, It wouldn't take much to make it easy to use in modules without having to connect the screen to a PC. A slightly better latency and frame rate would be perfect but I understand that this is probably impossible due to the technology used.
