Great numbers on the graphics side. I think once the bugs are ironed out and all the plugins are playing nicely again it will be really good. I’m convinced this means greatly enhanced scenery aka FS2020 is coming to Xplane in the future.

Excited for these improvements. It’s good for simming to have some alternatives as it keeps the innovation flowing. :D

It's already here Tony ... :D
I meant default scenery.
We will have to wait and see on that one me thinks.....

As for the 'default scenery' in X-P Tony, I doubt you will see much change - X-P cloud etc ? - I would believe it when I saw it.... The enthusiasm at LR is about 3 to 5 years ahead of the ability to partially deliver. :D . Vulkan is a help, but not a panacea.

The better hope would be that - as much as it pains me to say it..  that msfs2020, - if and when it ever becomes stable enough as previous MS releases tell us - and IF it makes REAL use of multi core cpus (which I doubt) .. but, let us presume that it does...... then the best thing is that someone makes a flight modelling engine that is really good as a plug in for 2020 and use that, rather than waiting for X-P to deliver things that are really 'air ware'
X-P is my sim of choice - there is nothing close at this time. But as for anything radical happening to it ? - I am not holding my breath.

I am not expecting too much from ms2020 either. I will wait for the huge hype to settle down. Everything they have shown so far has been purposefully VERY very selective.

The aircraft appear to be dangling on pieces of string as opposed to having a useful flight model, .. but we can hope. ALL the current sims ( not the games) are using 20 year old technology and need a complete rewrite from the ground up - which isnt going to happen as it is simply not commercially viable. So let's hope ms2020 IS ground breaking..... otherwise it is same old same old for the next 5 years at least. Again, I am not holding my breath..

FS2020 is absolutely not seen as commercially viable by MS as they are not really interested in a flight simulator at all (as the end result of this work) - it is a small part of an eco-system that will have the plug pulled if it doesn't deliver.

They want and are attempting (again) to develop a 'world' simulator where the same 'virtual' world can be used for all games that it may be suited for and new ones to come. It is designed as an /engine/ where the flight sim part is just an add in..
They want trucks to drive on the roads as per truck sim - the same roads - trains to drive on the tracks as per train sim.. boats to sail on the seas and lakes, craft that can go under water, combat games to be fought in the ground, air and sea - city management simulators- and anything else they want to do. That is the plan. It was the same plan they had when fsx was conceived. Without this coming to fruition it will not be cost effective to support ms2020 as a single entity. the engine needs to be fully utilised and extended to other games. - that is where - IF it works out, that things like XP can be a plug-in .. not the other way around... 8-) 8-) ;)
Of course, this is only my informed opinion - :) :D

Just for curiosity, what versión of Air Player are you using in your Raspberry Pi4?
I cannot get Air Player 4.1 to work. See https://siminnovations.com/forums/viewt ... 800#p47800
