Bendix King KAP

#1 Post by MiGMan »

Loving the Bendix King KAP by Sim Innovations, it seems right at home in my F-14B Tomcat :D

Using it in MSFS last night, low level over, with the cans on, and suddenly I hear 5 loud beeps in the room. Very unexpected and scary.

Took the cans off... fire alarm in the building?

No.

Fly again and repeat umpteen times until I work out that the beeping is coming from the Android. Seemingly a low altitude warning from the Bendix. Although it seems not to correspond to the altitude displayed on the instrument as: ALERT 200 ft. EDIT - it does indeed correspond to the altitude.

So my question is - how do I turn that feature on and off?

Select the instrument and turn the audio option off?

You mean turn the Android audio off?
Or is there an audio control somewhere on the Bendix?

Edit - just found the manual.
https://www.bendixking.com/content/dam/ ... -Guide.pdf
ALTITUDE ALERT (ALERT) ANNUNCIATION
Associated with the visual alerting is an aural alert (5 short tones) which occurs 1000 feet from the selected altitude upon approaching the altitude and 200
feet from the selected altitude on leaving the altitude.
OK - that's what I was hearing. Time to RTFM.

Oh it's on Android? Then you're stuck :) for now... The Android app is going to get an overhaul.

Yes, running on 4 Androids. Was running on 5, but running LNM on MFD #4.
Overhaul? Good to hear, though I have no complaints.
