Ah that makes sense.
Wonder if there’s something we can do make it boot faster, it’s hit and miss whether it starts for me… just need to find the reason it starts faster and gets the hit!

I'm one of 'those' mac guys. (and I have no idea why I can't afford to eat)
Re: Air Manager 4.1 not working on iOS 9.3.5
Maybe it is on the edge, depending on the amount of background processes running. Just guessing...

Hi,
Don't think there is much you can do to improve this.
iOS is famous in not letting app developers do much in the background.
Good news is that I just changed the app to load instruments after the splash screen. That fixes the issue.
Will make a testflight version tomorrow, and post a link here. That way you can try the new build.

Glad it's working ok as the 3rd gen Ipad 9.7" units are available for around 10 to 15 euros each ! Excellent prices (if you don't mind a minor fault like a camera or mic not working).
I wanted a couple of the retina 2048 x 1536 LCD Panels only for other uses (wasn't originally interested in the actual Ipad) and it was FAR cheaper just to buy a complete unit. I ended up with 7 - yes, SEVEN of the bloody 3rd gen Ipads - for only 75 euro inc' shipping - too good an offer to refuse as a single LCD is about 35 euros.
There are loads on ebay - well, there are seven less on Ebay UK - A couple can be recycled and used with AM now.

Hi Corjan
hope you got a nice period lately !
For the Testflight, I guess it's just only a generic advert :
"Required platforms
iOS or iPadOS apps: iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch running iOS 13 or iPadOS 13 or later. App Clips require iOS 14 or iPadOS 14, or later.
macOS apps: Mac running macOS 12 or later.
tvOS apps: Apple TV running tvOS 13 or later.
watchOS apps: Apple Watch running watchOS 6 or later."

Hi,
Yeah, it doesn't seem to make sense. The app requires at least iOS 9.0.

It would seem that the system is designed for testing applications that can be earlier versions than the actual 'testflight' program, however, to be able to run testflight the 'tester' has to have the later version as recommended.
So it would not be possible to run the system on an actual V9.x.x OS. but, you could test the proposed V9.x.x version on a much later system with 'testflight' as it will, via testflight, emulate the limitations of the earlier OS.

Hi,
Compatibility is going to change unfortunately.
Apple doesn't support building 32 bit iOS apps anymore.
That means that Air Manager won't run anymore on 32 bit iPads. See supported devices here:

Not even my iPad4!
And damn that means TouchPortal won't get updates either - I'd finally found a good use for ye old iPad2!
I sure hope Apple are contributing to recycling old tech initiatives
