Air Player Desktop for ARM - Cessna 152 some instr fail

#1 Post by paulskpt »

Hi,
In the first place I want to thank Sim Innovations for doing a great job with creating this new, Air Player Desktop for ARM. I immediately used the coupon I received today via e-mail.
What a relief! I always wished that Sim Innovations come with a product like this!
A version of Air Player that is installable as an application and not, as before, that one had to install a complete (SI customized) image of the Raspberry Pi Operating System.
Especially since I boot the Raspberry Pi from an SSID.
The buying, downloading, the install and activation from an Air Manager went flawlessly!

I started to try the new version Air Player for ARM with MSFS2020.
At first with a Cessna 172 Skyhawk. The standard panel worked OK, except that the EHT indicated much too high (old story).

Then I downloaded the panel for the Cessna 152.
Unfortunately three out of the eight instruments FAIL'ed:
Airspeed indicator;
Vertical Speed indicator;
Turn Coordinator.

The following instruments worked OK:
Directional gyro;
Attitude indicator;
Altimeter;
Tochometer Prop RPM;
ADF.

So far my first impressions.
Regards,
Paulskpt (a Dutchman living in Lisbon, Portugal)

What is considered 'failed'? :)

EGT is a matter of adjusting the user property to the correct level.

In this case 'Failed' is considered by me as 'not working'.
Yes, excuse me: all the instruments are being displayed Ralph.

Btw. On the PC running MSFS2020 I also installed the update of 'flight_sim_setup.exe'

The panel for the Cessna 172 I decreased the max level of the EGT from 2000 to 1500.

When I selected 'hide' of the panel for the 152, I saw a message on the RPI400 console window: "libEGL warning: DRI2: failed to authenticate".
while the initial startup message were:
'Starting...
Asking for application list online. Attempt 1 of 1.
Found application list online.
Starting application ./AirPlayer'.

I rebooted the RPi400
then restarted the Airplayer for ARM by issuing './Bootloarder'
Again were displayed the startup messages.
As soon as I, on the PC with Air Manager 4.1.3 running, selected to 'show' the C172 panel,
in the RPi400 console window I saw printed the message: "libEGL warning: DRI2: failed to authenticate", then the app showed the C172 panel

I have checked with Jasper about the error message, I think it can be ignored.

Regarding the Cessna instruments, it is still not 100% clear to me. You mean that everything displays, but some instruments do not move?
