Upgrade to 4.1 and any questions.

#1 Post by Pat737 »

Hello,

I am using version 3.710 of air manager.
I would like to upgrade to 4.1.

Should I uninstall 3.710 and reinstall 4.1 ?

As I'm also using p3dv and fs2020, I guess I need to install the 3.8 plugin too ?

Thank you for your answers.

Sorry for English, I use a translator, also for my low computer level.
As I use a Cessna cockpit I am very happy with air manager.

Cordially.

Hello Patrick.
I will let others answer the upgrade questions as you are making extensive use of AM in these most amazing works of art.
Just to say I have been a total admirer of your amazing work for a long time. You are an inspiration. I mainly follow your incredible 172 cockpit. So many brilliant ideas and solutions.
Congratulations on probably the best build I have seen anywhere.
Definitely a fan of yours. :D

Hello Joe

Thank you for those compliments.
Building the 172 isn't that hard.

I built it that way to be simple to use and quick to get going.

You can follow the different manufacturing phases here for the C172:

And here for the B737:

Hi,

Agree, looks impressive.

Since you probably have quite a complicated Air Manager configuration, I would suggest the following:
* Make a backup of the 'C:\Users\%user%\Air Manager' folder
* Uninstall AM 3.7
* Install AM 4.1

When starting AM 4.1, it should still show all panels etc etc.

Hi Pat.
It isn't always the most complex, or the most difficult in a technical sense, it is simply the end result that gives the user the feeling of real 'immersion' in the experience. I have seen some 'technically' better instrument representations or reproductions, but that is not the issue. The thing for most flight sim enthusiasts is the feeling that they are actually IN the aircraft and actually flying the aircraft. Having such a super, if not necessarily complex solution around you makes a HUGE difference. If you sit in front of your panel, you are simply transported into a 172 cockpit. Yes, the yoke is lower than it should be, and some measurements are not identical to the real cockpit, but it makes no difference. Nobody could sit in front of that work of art and not say WOW !!! a 172!!!! .. that is what it is all about.
Again, a total credit to you. Whilst some try to get the last Dzuz screw to look right, you have surpassed them by miles by having a truly usable cockpit that partially suspends reality. Surely, that is what flight simming is all about.

Good morning all,

Thanks Corjan, I followed your instructions and it worked perfectly.
Yokes/throttles/flaps/trim/flaps and instruments are now functional under fs2020.

Thanks to sim innov. for the switch to 4.1. ;)
I will talk about it on my site, as soon as I find the time for the update. 8-)

Hello Joe
My philosophy and very simple.
I look at what equipment I have (screens, wood...) and I look at what I want to do with it.
Then I adapt things trying to be as close to reality as possible for minimal costs.

Go to the end of your desires...

Good continuation to all.
