Flight Simulator Plugins Installation v2.2.0

#1 Post by SimPassion »

The plugin stated, that it requires FSX have the service pack 2 installed
but my FSX installation has FSX + Acceleration Expansion Pack which equal SP2 (in fact SP2 is SP1a)

this is the case for both :
  • FSX Professionnal + Acceleration Expansion Pack in two packages
  • FSX Gold Edition in one package : FSX Deluxe (Professional Edition) + Acceleration Expansion Pack

Forget to specify, that plugin has not been update in "FSX\Modules\Air Manager" folder
(still on January 02, 2017 : one year old)

but it's ok for P3Dv4.1 and x-plane 10 / 11
on my PC and on the school PC

I've re done the installation process
and I've just seen why it couldn't be achieved
my FSX folder location is not "E:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\"
but rather "D:\Simu\FSX\", however the dll.xml has been updated
so I will copy and paste the plugin
and update the path inside dll.xml

Installing SimConnect
Installing SimConnect from 'E:\TempDump\SimConnectSP2-XPACK.msi'
Searching config file for Flight Simulator X (Normal or Steam edition)
Successfully written AM configuration to 'E:\Users\admin\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\dll.xml'

Maybe you've manually changed the folder name or moved the folder?

Sorry and I apologized for that Ralph
I had to check in the registry before posting
After moving from Win7 to Win10, I've not re installed FSX, so the folder is at the proper location but for the old OS (I've just remember that now)
the registry key is only there (recreated manually for dev needs)
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0
with this value for <SetupPath> : "E:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X"

I now really have to install FSX again to check AM3 with this sim as for now, our main sims are X-Plane 11 and P3DV4

Thanks for your answer
Gilles
