AM3 BETA 60 instrments cropped on the bottom edge

#1 Post by brodhaq »

Hello,
my AM3 BETA updated to 60 today and all instruments seem to be cropped on the bottom edge. First I thought it was only problem of my instruments, but I tested and downloaded Baron 58 gauge from the online database, and it is cropped as well. Any fix?

I am posting the problematic gauge render + preview to see the result.

I have just measured the airspeed gauge by an on-screen ruler and it is 512 x 490 px big (while the original prefered size is 512 x 512). The G1000 from your online database should be 1024x768 and in fact is 1024x744.

Yep we know, it's a bug in the latest SDL release. We're going to revert to the previous version for now until they've solved it. The cool thing in the new SDL version is the possibility for always on top and it might support touch on the RPi. But that's all useless with this issue :)

Hi,

I just upgraded to SDL 2.0.7. There is a bug in there that will cause the top bar to hidden but still active in some way (still takes up some some pixels).

Today I will make another BETA where I will include 2.0.6. That version does not have this bug, and will still support always on top.
Will also file a bug report at SDL.

Thanks for your response,

Corjan

Hello Corjan

it seems there's a lot of issues outside SimInnovations products around OpenGL (surely a big move actually)
x-plane just crashed with similar message about GLSL shader
unless it would be an issue using ZIBOmod or whatelse ...
and many other issues with a few applications, stating that there's not enough memory (curious on 16GB and 32GB PC)
perhaps Windows 10 fall creators update and NVidia concern too

i'm waiting urgently fixes from those editors

Actually Windows 10 x64 Fall Creator Update
Nvidia 3.88.31

great moment of flutter and loneliness ... :-)

Best regards
Gilles

I was wrong with my statement about memory consumption
My memory commitment displays 18.7/18.8 GB
so 16GB isn't enough and it's now urgent to add more memory (yes there's the paging file, but to avoid swapping it's best to have more hardware memory)
x-plane alone is using more than 15GB with ZIBOmod loaded and Ortho4XP in Zoom 17
then just crashed to desktop
