Cessna 172 egt incorrect

#1 Post by shadyowl2 »

Just testing the gauges for the 172 on the stock x-plane 11 172 and I noticed the egt gauge is incorrect. I looked at the script but it looks right to me lol...If someone could take a look would be great

Egt varies for each aircraft, you might have to adjust the code. It's also possible that xplane returns a Fahrenheit temperature instead of Celsius.

If I am reading the code correctly, it is converting C to F in the code but I could be incorrect.

Just tried AM with XP11, and noticed that the Temp Gauged and the EGT are not functioning at all at with the Stock C172SP.
Any idea how can this be resolved other than edit the scrip ( sorry I have no clue of scrips, not even sure what app to use to open a scrip)

Please advice

Tnx

If AM is connected correctly, you need to get into the code or ask someone else to do it :)

X-Plane has datarefs, which work in the background and store all the needed values. AM grabs
(thats the coding part) and displays them.

Without looking at it, I would first check if the dataref name/path is correct.

To which temp gauge are you referring to? The oil temp gauge does work correctly but the EGT gauge does not in my sim with x-plane 11.05 version. It appears it has the wrong datarefs for programming according to the dataref tool and the current programmed datarefs in the gauge. It may also need to be reprogrammed for rotation
sim/cockpit2/engine/indicators/EGT_deg_C
sim/flightmodel/engine/ENGN_EGT
sim/flightmodel/engine/ENGN_EGT_C
X-plane must have changed them from version 10 to Version 11

They have indeed changed some datarefs. Quite confusing :) I'll have a look at it when I'm back, at the end of this month.

Ralph,
I have modified the code for the original gauge to work with the X-plane 11 stock 172. This gauge will not work with the Airfoil labs 172 or fsx aircraft but it should hold everyone until you can take a look at the original. :D The new gauge is uploaded as an Attachment.

Did you try it with Xplane 10? Would be interesting to know if that still works.

I do not have X-plane 10 to be able to test it. However I did use the dataref (sim/cockpit2/engine/indicators/EGT_deg_C) which was the same as the original gauge and the gauge works as it should with my calculations so it could have been a rotation calculation error in the old gauge but I am not sure.
