#1 Post by SimPassion »

Hi

I've also checked at the moment with Raspberry Pi last image (october 6th 2017 - 3 931 136 KB)
and persistence doesn't seem to work

Best Regards

Haha, thanks for understanding :)

A new Raspberry Pi image is online.

In theory, this should also be the last time that the complete SD card image has to be used.
I managed to fix an issue in the bootloader as well, so now the Air player application will be updated automatically on boot.

Air Player RaspBerry PI Proxy settings

#7 Post by SimPassion »

Hello Corjan

just an up on one thing
the project i'm wotking on, is located in a school where they are using a proxy
i'm wondering if the RaspBerry Pi image or other hardware image like, could handle proxy settings in the future to make the self updating easier ?
only ip address and port would be nice and enough

Best regards
Gilles

Hello Corjan

it seems the persistence issue haven't been fixed with last BETA Raspberry Pi Image
i also experiencing random AM3_subscribed variable reading issue
sommetimes they are read sometimes and is varying in the same session of Air Player (no matter it's Desktop or RaspBerry Pi image)

Best regards
Gilles

Air Player RaspBerry PI Proxy settings

#9 Post by SimPassion »

It seems like Air Player, no matter plateform, will perform a save only on closing
so how do we do to be sure values are saved?
with RaspBerry Pi,
where we would only have two situations, with possibly loosing memory variables values that are not saved :
- to be shutdown with Air Manager Devices tab
- to be shutdown with unplugging the power cord

Best regards
Gilles

Hi,

To be honest, I just recompiled the same AM code for the raspberry Pi hoping it was the same issue.
I'll investigate further next week in why persistence is not working right on the Pi.

The proxy settings is really an OS thing I think. Maybe something like this helps:
https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/view ... hp?t=18634

We use HTTPS to connect to our webservice, not sure if that makes a difference, but just throwing it out here :)

The persistence XML is indeed only saved when the instrument closes down.
The shutdown in the devices tab will make Air Player (and the Raspberry Pi) close cleanly. The persistence file should be written at that point.

Unplugging the power won't save the persistence file, but again, you should never do that anyways. It might also corrupt the Linux file system.
