Panels backup

#1 Post by JackZ »

Hello to all

Here’ s a question from the French cockpitbuilders’ Forum.
It’s about the way to save and restore a set of custom panels in the event of an inadvertent deletion of a panel.

I know it was saved partly in an XML file, back in v2.1.3, but also know that this behavior has changed with v3.x. Any hint or trick for both versions 2.1.3 and 3.x) appreciated.

Hello Jacques

what i'm doing to prevent such situation
is to do a regular backup of \Users\%username%\Air Manager and \Users\%username%\Air Player
panels are saved with config.sqlite3 files at root location
and instruments with \Users\%username%\Air Manager\instruments\OPEN_DIRECTORY or \Users\%username%\Air Player\instruments\OPEN_DIRECTORY
at least instruments list inside Air player could be rebuild with Air Manager, so no obligation to backup instruments twice but surely easier to restore in case

the same could be done with BETA versions

Best regards
Gilles

You can store the config.sqlite3 file like Giles said. If you have custom instruments then it might be wise to save them somewhere, all online instruments are downloaded automatically if they can't be found locally.

Hi,

I'd like to add my custom AM3 panel files to my regular backup location, can you please advise the specific AM3 files that would enable this.

Backup the "\Users\%username%\Air Manager\config.sqlite3" and/or ""\Users\%username%\Air Manager BETA\config.sqlite3""
