Hi Everyone,
I am fairly new to Sim. Probably this is a commonly asked question here, so I apologize in advance. I have looked through the forum and found one or two posts regarding this but could not resolve the issue. So looking for some help.
My goal is to replicate the aircraft I am currently flying (C172 with Dual G5s, GNS 430w and GFC500) to practice instrument approaches. I bought AirManager for windows desktop and created my own panel. I added GNS430 overlay instrument along with GFC 500 and other instruments. I am not getting GNS overlay to work. I have watch the video posted by Sling and looks like i am missing "Layout" as an option under background in settings. How do I make the GNS 430 transparent, so the X plane 430 will show from behind?
If I change the background to "Transparent" it does work but the whole panel does not look good. Any thoughts on what i am missing or what needs to be done to make this work correctly? I would like to get this working as expected before i get G5s. Thanks in advance for your help!
Here are the pictures of the panel, settings and panel in show mode.

@russ @Sling Any suggestions please?
Re: GNS 430 Overlay Issue
There are a couple of topics about this. You will have to create a custom background image with cut outs.
Re: GNS 430 Overlay Issue
@Ralph thanks for the response Ralph. Considering I’m fairly new to AM. Is there any other way to get around that ?
Does getting a premium panel solve this? I see there are 3-4 premium Panels for c172. Also can premium panels be customized once purchased ? For example, I want only gns430. Replace stec with gfc500 and put g5s.
Appreciate your help.

Re: GNS 430 Overlay Issue
There's a 172 premium panel layout that has the cut-outs for the 530 and 430. But basically, the holes will not magically appear So you will always have to do something custom.

Thanks @Ralph
Let me look into creating custom background images.

Hi @Ralph
I saw the advanced air manager panels video by Russ on YouTube and understood what you were suggesting.
Is there a video or document on how to create panel itself ? I would like to create a panel with only gns430 overlay.
Thanks for your help.

Re: GNS 430 Overlay Issue
Do you mean across the full monitor or just a small panel that only fits the bezels?
Re: GNS 430 Overlay Issue
@Ralph just to overlay gns430
To have transparency along with other instruments with no transparency. I think basically a cut out for 430
