Knobster unrecognized (4.0 Beta 27)

Seem to be having issues getting the knobster recognized. Running Beta 27, plugin should be the latest as well. Unsure if this is a beta thing? Tried the obvious, unplug/replug, reboot to no avail. Windows sees it and thinks it's fine.

Any ideas?

sorted this out, there was an unrecognized USB hub somewhere upstream apparently causing this odd behavior.
