It seems that a dependency wasn't installed, people having the same issue should install this program:

If you run X-plane in 32 bit, install the 32 bit version of this program, otherwise install the 64 bit version. If you are unsure, install both 32 and 64 bit.
For AM 2.2, I will include X-plane into the plugin installer program, so that this dependency will be installed automatically.
