Good Day, I have both FSX and MsFS 2020 installed on my machine. I run 4.0 on a remote PC. My issue is that when loading AM 4.0 it defaults to seeing FS2020. I can sometimes get it to recognize FSX sometimes but only by luck. I have tried to select it manually, shut everything down and have AM running with FSX selected and then launching FSX but I cannot always get it to see FSX when I want it to. However, sometimes I am doing something (not sure What) and it will see it. Is there a certain sequence to get it to see FSX? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Thanks for your response Ralph, I have done that a few times. I just noticed that it is FSX Steam Edition that is not being installed (which is what I am running.) Fs2020, FSX and P3d are all showing installed but FSX Steam is not. Strangely however, every now and then it will connect to FSX but I cannot tell why it does.

If you have the Steam version of FSX, then it can identify as regular FSX or FSX Steam. That's strangely the way Dovetail made it. But it does not matter.
Your message is a little confusing, but I guess that you do not have FSX and FSX Steam? So if it does connect to FSX (Steam) sometimes, then it is probably a network issue.

Thanks again Ralph, I looked at the FSX log file. This is what is displayed when FSX and Air Manager were shut down. I am confused by the following. It just seems to connect to FSX when it feels like it. It always defaults to fs 2020 even when fs 2020 isn't running. I really appreciate your help on this. A couple of weeks ago, I made a fix that prevented the FS2020 service to connect to FSX and Prepar3d.
Just realized I forgot to commit that change, and I think it was removed from the latest BETA version.
Just uploaded a new Flight sim plugin BETA, would you mind installing and testing this version?
