AM4.0, restarting plugin

#1 Post by Helibrewer »

So occasionally the FS2020 plugin just stops working at AM can no longer communicate with the sim. This ends up requiring a PC reboot to resolve. Is there a way to more conveniently restart the plugin without having to do a reboot or reinstall each time?

Thanks,
Mike

You can do it from the Windows Services. But it is also something that should just be fixed. We're gonna test the software this week, then soon after this we'll focus on the plugins.

Hi,

This is not unique to FS2020. I have the same issue with xplane and AM4.

AM stops getting reads from the sim. But dataref values are retained.
You can alter the dataref value in the sim AM does not respond.
You can shut down AM and restart and run a different instrument then return to the previous instrument. Old values remain.
Claire AM cache no change.
Shut down xplane and restart. No change.
Both Xplane and AM need to be rebooted.

I haven't heard about that one before. Are you using the release version of the plugin? Have you tried disabling the firewall?

Ralph,

I have not. This happened to me three times yesterday.
I will see if I can reproduce at will, but it looked like a random thing.

Now this is weird. I have also just recently been getting random lost communication mid flight. On one short 85nm flight it happened 3 times. The issue is not easy to track down because as yet I haven’t found a pattern. I’m wondering if MS have gone and made something worse again. They forced another update recently and my initial thought is this is the only thing that’s changed. I will caveat that by saying that I have been flying much more lately so maybe I just never noticed it before. Anyhow it’s truly annoying and we need to find a solution.

I’ll post back if I make a discovery.

I have a similar problem, often when I put my computer in sleep mode. I restart FS2020 bridge service in Task Manager and it returns to normal.

Hi,

Yesterday I managed to fix a bug that would make the service 'lock up'.
My plan is to release a BETA version of AM, AP and flight plugins tomorrow. I that that version will fix this issue.

Will the updated Beta files be here or will you be replacing the existing file links?

Thanks!
