KnobXP feedback and feature requests
Re: KnobXP feedback and feature requests
I know, but that's only the window. A new style window with old buttons would look even weirder.

Totally agree, it's why there's new style windows, with new style buttons though ... [EDIT] As you already done with this nice KnobXP UI (visual design)

Re: KnobXP feedback and feature requests
Just noticed the si commands binding are making jumps with many previous or next modes, not only just the previous one or next one mode
Is this the true design ?
[EDIT] Is it with or without bouncing handling ?

Re: KnobXP feedback and feature requests
The plugin admin window shows Knob XP using up to 12 FPS on my system. I'm presently only getting 60 FPS with Knob XP turned off, so 12 FPS seems like a lot.
Re: KnobXP feedback and feature requests
I've never checked the frame impact, but that sounds like a lot. I'll give it a try to see what it does here.
@Gilles Are you using the commands from a regular joystick button or from the Knobster itself?

Re: KnobXP feedback and feature requests
Thanks @Ralph to take time to look into this
I will redo the check, as this behavior is seen months ago and at the moment, what I've seen is not fresh in my mind
I will report here next
[EDIT] For the precision I've currently unbind the commands as they wouldn't work properly and assigned the buttons to other actions, so again to make another attempt

Re: KnobXP feedback and feature requests
Hello @Ralph
I've re checked at the moment that the KnobXP UI is performing strange or improper move
I've assigned Keyboard keys :
I've popped out the KnobXP UI to better make screenshot and scale it up : BUT no matter is the height of the UI, the behavior is still the same in any case
Starting from the current "NAV2 frequency" selected value, here's what should be the result while pressing "+" or "-" (plus or minus) keys :
In real, this is not the case, here's the result I get when pressing "+" :
here's the result I get when pressing "-" :
And further, cherry on the cake, the result is mandatory each time, so we can't expect a predictable result
Additionally the Knobster UI is performing a "carousel" like rotating until it stabilized by itself reaching the selection it would suggest to us (not the selection we expect though)

Re: KnobXP feedback and feature requests
Again to make the precision and as stated initially when starting this thread :
It would be best to avoid starting in a loop ("carousel" way) until next or previous value is reached, as the expected value is only just below or just above if I don't miss anything ... !?!

Re: KnobXP feedback and feature requests
Not already mentioned : it works properly using the Knobster
So, the issue is reached when using joystick buttons or keys binding to "si/knobster/mode" commands inside X-Plane Keyboard or Joystick settings

Re: KnobXP feedback and feature requests
Thanks @Corjan for this new "KnobXP 1.1 Home Use (BETA 1)" release
it is fixed, thanks again for this additionnal work
I've not thought to check using dataref tool, it could have been shorter for you ...
