It would be interesting for desktop touch screens as well. It will be interesting to see how that project goes. It’s more involved with the hardware interface but you can experiment with it now at least.

Well, doing this to desktop-touchscreens will be a little hard. They don't have an inbuild vibration motor
and I suppose shaking those TFTs can lead to electronic failure on the long run.

Perhaps you are right but that has not stopped someone giving it a go, Search the forums for haptic and you should find the thread. I guess only time will tell if it's viable or not.
