The message is only shown in the beta at the moment. You'll see it in 3.5.
Yes, the buttons and dials still work.

So Ralph you mean that you will leave the overlay instruments into the tablet's library in future versions, but with this warning message?
Good idea, but in that case, the display should have a cross and also say that the bezel and buttons will still work, but with no display IMHO

It can indeed be changed, I'm open for suggestions as you did. The current message might be a bit too small.

+1 Perhaps with a black screen in place of blue one, for those using it in night conditions, or eventually the ability to customize color, as for night flights it could be an issue

Or maybe the screen could toggle between the notification screen and a totally black screen with a click of the screen

This what it became in 3.5. You can click or tab the screen to hide the message, it will become transparent. Not sure if it's better to make it black... Implemented for the 430, 530 and 1000.
