- to rely on certificate like
- adding stamp related to only one device
- eventually some additional network process during activation with mandatory connection of previous activated device

Perhaps the time to rework and hardening it :

Hi,
You hit the nail on it's head.
License stuff always feels easy at first, until you really start to think about it .

No, really easy, it's what most of the software are doing : take a timestamp of the device
nothing fancy and there's plenty of portable library for this

Re: Selfmade gauges on Android?
Timestamp is a crappy solution, since it is easily "hacked" by changing the OS time.

Yes i've just thought of it, this is why i thinj adding a mandatory regular heartbeat (day,week,15 days ... on best thought) will allow to be sure any device will request for validation on Sim Innovation site and therefore an embeded self de activation ...
it's nearly the design of Microsoft windows licensing architecture
having worked with main software editors around the securing for licensing, i've seen there's many solution for all needs

I think the long and short of this is Corjan and Ralph need to be comfortable with whatever solution they choose to implement.

That’s not going to satisfy those users whose sim machine is offline.SimPassion wrote: ↑Wed Feb 27, 2019 11:48 am Yes i've just thought of it, this is why i thinj adding a mandatory regular heartbeat (day,week,15 days ... on best thought) will allow to be sure any device will request for validation on Sim Innovation site and therefore an embeded self de activation ...

Re: Selfmade gauges on Android?
Yes, unfortunately, there is no one real solution to this thing...
There are always concessions that have to be made.
Also, it is very hard to create a solid system. Even big companies with way to much money cannot get stuff like this truly secure.
