Hi,
unfortunately my "raspi"-screen died.
Now two facts I can get:
-> For a short trial I verified that connected to TV via HDMI all is working smoothly. It does. (I love the RasPi Air Player, thanks again)
Because using my 42" TV-set isn't really the best choice in the long term I tried to hook the RasPi up to my old backup-PC.
-> Touching the RasPi remotely from my old machine (VGA-Monitor) shows either the bash terminal or an entirely blank "GUI"-screen.
No way, neither with RDP nor with VNC.
Is there any application or X11-Server or VNC or whatever for the RasPi to get the instruments back on my old PC's screen?
Or should they even be there and may be it is my Panel-configuration? Then I'll re-adjust on my TV-set and try again.

Re: Where's (or which) desktop
Hi,
Only the HDMI output can be used as a visual output.
There is no X11 server or anything similar running. All pixels are drawn directly to the frame buffer.
