Aspen EFD 1000 combination of hardware and software buttons?

#1 Post by Eepgmik »

Hi folks. I wonder if you can help me.

I have a small touch screen set up to display my Aspen on. The touch buttons work fine so the only hardware I’m looking to add is rotary encoders for the two dials. I’m in the process of getting that set up, but before I go too far I wanted to confirm that the touch buttons can still work even when SOME of the functions are handled by the hardware via the siff file.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks, the wiki specifically stated “Leave out the software bezel and use this script to control all the functions.”, but I want to keep the software bezel so I still have the touch buttons. Maybe I just misunderstood the intention of the statement, it came across like a requirement, not an option.

You can use both, that works fine.

I think that’s because most people use one or the other. But as Ralph said it’s ok to leave the soft control bezel and also have a couple of hardware encoders for the dials.
