PI4 woes with a DPI Hyperpixel 4’’ display

#1 Post by sirwio »

I have a Hyperpixel 4’’ that I am trying to get to display a ESI-2000 backup instrument. The display is however by default in portrait mode 800x480 and there is a Raspberry PI 4 limitation that using the Hyperpixel its not possible to rotate the display to landscape at the same time as the dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d driver is enabled.

I have the physical screen rotated 270* so instrument placed show up rotated 90*.

Since I presume the vc4-fkms-v3d driver is required by air player for pi - I need some help on how to proceed.

One option might perhaps be to revert back to using a pi3 but I am unsure if its performance wise will be enough to show the instrument.

The other and what I would actually prefer is if there is any way to place panels/instruments rotated onto the display?

If not possible in Air Manager itself is it possible to create the instruments rotated?

Ralph: Is it possible to get a trial license when troubleshooting this issue on an PI3 instance?

Regards,

Magnus
