Raspberry Pi Air Player crashing out - Resolved

#1 Post by Theflyer »

Hi,
New to the Air Manager and Air Player.
I have an issue with Air Player V3.4 on a Raspberry Pi 2B. My quite simple panel will start OK and run for a while, but will suddenly revert to the login prompt. At first, I thought it was a Power supply issue, but have now eliminated that. I am running P3D version 4.4. I have tried it from two different P3D installations and two networks. On one it lasts only seconds before dropping out, on the other minutes. The SD card has been wiped several times with no change.

I have connected a keyboard to the Pi and logged in OK. I have viewed the log.txt file on screen and there are no error messages. The InstrumentRunner Messages just stop abruptly.
Air Manager shows no devices if it is started after the crash and a ghost if it was running before the crash.

Code: Select all

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo tail -f /root/Air\ Player/log.txt

Is this a known issue, or have I done something wrong?
Is there any more info that I can provide to help?

Cheers

Hi,

First off, sorry for the inconvenience.
I'm not aware of Air Player 3.4 crashing for the Raspberry Pi.

By the end of next week, we are going to release version 3.5. A lot has changed between 3.4 and 3.5, so there is a chance that your issue has also been fixed.

If you don't want to wait for the official release, you can also try the BETA versions or Air Manager and Air Player:

Success.

I updated to the Beta version 48 of the manager and airplayer for the Pi. Instruments and panel migrated. Tested it this weekend and all is running great, with no crashes.

Thanks for your help.

Ian
