Stone gauges since upgrade to P3D v4.4

#1 Post by PapaLima »

Hi,

I have upgraded my P3D to v 4.4 I have redownloaded the latest Flight simulator plugins and installed it ok (it says P3D found and installed ok in the target P3D installed folder during the setup).
I check the Air Plugin log file and it says "all greens" with

Code: Select all

07-12-2018 00:28:58 INFO Main: Starting plugin (V2.5)...
07-12-2018 00:28:58 INFO SimConnectHandler: SimConnect handle: 0000016DB45F70A0
07-12-2018 00:28:58 INFO Main: Init Sim Bus...
07-12-2018 00:28:58 INFO Main: Done initializing!
07-12-2018 00:28:58 INFO Main: Serving forever...
07-12-2018 00:29:02 INFO SimBus: New client connected on port 55557 (ext. port 48336)
07-12-2018 00:29:02 INFO ProviderPool: Succesfull bind to variable "TITLE"
07-12-2018 00:29:02 INFO ProviderPool: Succesfull bind to variable "LIGHT PANEL"
07-12-2018 00:29:02 INFO ProviderPool: Succesfull bind to variable "VERTICAL SPEED"
07-12-2018 00:29:02 INFO ProviderPool: Succesfull bind to variable "AIRSPEED INDICATED"
From AM Desktop, I see the two Pi and I can Save their panels from AM to them. They reload each time normally.

When I start P3D, the PI gauges of my two Raspberrys does not change anymore. The needles stays fixed.
I do not see where I missed something.

Any advice for me to check ?

Thanks
Philippe

Why did you feel the need to update the plugin?

Did you install an incompatible plugin?

I don’t think Air Player is as up to date as Air Manager so installing say the beta plugin that works with AM 3.5 beta could have broke compatibility with whatever you have on your Rpi’s.

Hi Tony,

I made a full clean install of P3D v4.4 because I was sill running the v4.1. So I reinstalled the AM FS plugin

FSUIPC 5.0 and PTA (P3D Tweak Asssistant) which is not a plugin but an external tool to assist in the graphic output settings

Yes before I upgraded, it worked well ... P3D v4.4 is too recent (released Dec 2nd) I think I now have to wait a new AM FS plugin release to align with the last P3D v4.4 version. I jumped too early in this new version I think...

AM guys will confirm

What I meant was did you install an incompatible Airplugin version. I think it’s more to do with the plugin v the AM version rather than the sim version. It may be that the sim needs something different and Ralph or Corjan will know that for sure.

Hello Philippe

i'm pretty sure Tony would suggest you to install 2.6 Beta 2 plugin rather than the 2.5 version you've already installed !?
here's the latest version :

No trouble Gilles.

Possibly also the other way. You have the latest beta plugin but you should be using the stable. It will depend on what AM and AP versions you are running.

Tony

Edit : Just re read the post and I see you installed 2.5 already so now not sure.

Hi,

It might indeed be the case that the latest Air Plugin 2.6 BETA 2 is not backwards compatible with Air Player 3.4.
It should be, but I did change something in the communication layer, so it might very well that I messed up somewhere.

Like suggested, would you mind installing the official plugin, and see how that goes?

Hi Corjan,

I have downloaded the Flightsim plugins 2.5 Home Use.exe from the link you provided.
During the installation, title bar is "Plugin installer .5.0.0"

Flight Simulator X is detected and marked Installed! (I do not have it on my machine anymore)
The Details are

Code: Select all

Searching installation path for Flight Simulator X (Normal or Steam edition)
Installing the AM module to 'E:\P3Dv4\Modules\Air Manager'
Copied Air Manager FSX module into 'E:\P3Dv4\Modules\Air Manager'.
Installing SimConnect
Installing SimConnect from 'C:\Users\Papa\AppData\Local\Temp\SimConnectSP2-XPACK.msi'
Searching config file for Flight Simulator X (Normal or Steam edition)
Successfully written AM configuration to 'C:\Users\Papa\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\dll.xml'
Successfully installed Air Manager on 'Flight Simulator X (Normal or Steam edition)'.
Prepar3d (V4) is detected and marked Installed! (installed in E:\P3Dv4 folder)
Details are:

Code: Select all

Searching installation path for Prepar3d (v4)
Could not find registry path at 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4:SetupPath'
Could not find registry path at 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4:AppPath'
Installing the AM module to 'E:\P3Dv4\Modules\Air Manager'
Copied Air Manager FSX module into 'E:\P3Dv4\Modules\Air Manager'.
Searching config file for Prepar3d (v4)
Successfully written AM configuration to 'C:\Users\Papa\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\dll.xml'
Successfully installed Air Manager on 'Prepar3d (v4)'.
The registry keys not found are maybe the source of my problem ?

The C:\Users\<user>\Air Plugin\p3d_log.txt file contents is : (I do not see any PI subscriptions..)

Code: Select all

Hi,

Plugin installation seems to be fine. Don't worry about the registry paths not being found, there can be multiple places where it can find the installation path of Prepar3d.

It seems that the network connection cannot be established for some reason.

Can you connect to Prepar3d with normal AM?
