Garmin G1000 MFD
Hi,
After doing the GCU47X series keypads I had to do an overlay that would be placed between the xplane pop out and Russ's G1000 bezel.
I did that.
Now I embark on a popper G1000 for those that want to run the instrument on other machines without having to buy two xplane licences. Will it run on a RPi, Yes everything except the vector MAP or at this stage OSM MAP. RPi cannot handle all those resources.
Having first started to replicate the "X-PLANE 1000" and doing research, it really is far from the real thing. No set up, no diagnostics, no configuration etc etc. Do I want to do a perfect replication? Yes but I have to be realistic and know that there are limitations.
So this instrument unlike the"X-PLANE 1000" which has the restrictive 6 EIS, it will have custom aircraft type configurations.
It will also have some of the maintenance functions like testing connectivity and hardware connections.
Not going to bomb this post with loads of menu images. Just a taster of a few of the many already done.
Any suggestions and or advice will be noted and considered.

The left part, is that in a separate library? Would be nice to eventually have a user property for a couple of different aircraft. I guess you already thought about that.

Hi Ralph
Yes, that is what I talk about. I will have some basic pre_configured air-frames. But I talk about the ability to custom configure as per Garmin.
Take a look at page 64 of the line maintenance manual.
http://static.garmin.com/pumac/G1000:Ce ... Manual.pdf
I am very close to having the flight planning working. Most of that was from a previous instrument i did then went on hold about a year and a half ago awaiting the map & nav features.
Don't know if you remember. But these pics illustrate the flight plan plotting and the nav data extracted from navigraph. So I am confident that once the new nave data is available this instrument should start to rock.

Hey Keith,
Thanks again for your help with my ERJ EICAS (on another post). I knew your name looked familiar, and now I remember why - your G1000 project had caught my attention before I posted for help.
I know you didn't ask ME for suggestions , but wouldn't it be cool to see an Embraer Phenom 100/ 300 EIS? (OK, I might be a bit of an Embraer fanboy (story for another time/ post ). I actually have it on my list of projects to tackle, but it was going to be after making more progress on the ERJ. Since I've made some progress on that front, maybe we can collaborate on your G1000? I'd be very glad to provide any assistance I can with graphics, information, and even (dare I say) some coding!
I also have on my list to take a stab at the G2000/ G3000/ G5000 GTC 570 touchscreen controllers, which I hope to get to at some point. Those are on the newer Phenoms as well as on the newer TBMs and a host of other aircraft.
Let me know if I can help in any way!
Marco

Hi Marco,
Added to the TODO list. That one is going to take some time with the SYNOPTICS. Drawing those graphics in canvas is going to take some patience.
Just some eye candy.
