Oldie but goodie, touchscreen cockpit

#1 Post by Cirrostratuss »

Took a nearly 10 year old computer, added a 4-year old gpu, over 10 year old pedals and yoke, and three brand new monitors. The particlewood panel backing was left over from a shipping crate. Table was built with 2x4 scrap wood. Slap some paint on it and good to go. The touch panels were from waveshare, shipping 3-days from HK. Raspberry PI running the instruments. It was a four week project and with the monitors, about $1000 spent. Gonna use it for IFR training. If and when knobster is back in stock, might need to add it. Running ForeFlight on the iPad.

Started flying sims with Flight Simulator 3.0 back in the eighties. Damn, we’ve come a long way!!

Gratulation.
I wish I had crafting skills too. But I have two left hands.
