Overhead monitor with AP

#1 Post by Roxus »

Has anyone mounted a monitor overhead attached to a desk ?
I plan to build an overhead panel for engine management and run it with AirPlayer but looking for how to mount it overhead and be safe !
And no ceiling mounts, or wall mounts !

Considering the weight and size of a monitor for a complete Overhead (which plane are you planning to use?), I would definitely consider either a metallic structure using alumininum extruded profiles that can be mounted at an angle, or with wood (probably trickier for connecting those) with a stand foot that is extending at the same level as the monitor to keep the center of gravity of the monitor above the foot stand (can be hidden in the Pedestal).
Or else a three legged structure with a center pole that could be the windshield mount, the other two being the two sides entrance for a future cockpit shell.
