I found this, however we mostly don't need this industrial level for simulation :

Thanks again Ralph for the Farnell link :
I eventually found the way they've done it (or at least "a way" if they've not done it based on my guess)

based on this model :
https://uk.farnell.com/elma/01-1424/swi ... dp/1876079

I found this : "...Dual concentric version with E33 Encoder feed through"
Rotary Switch Dual Concentric with ELMA E33 Encoder feed through.jpg

That picture where you labelled it push button on the end looks like it takes a triple knob setup. The push button is integrated on the smallest dial so it shouldn’t have its own shaft. I would expect to see 2 shafts for a dual knob arrangement.

The inner is an encoder with its own push button and already get both shaft on same axis
then no problem to insert it in the outer shaft formed as a cylinder

Gilles I was referring to the picture posted that appears to have 3 shafts. It sounds like you understand how the button is integrated so I was surprised to see the way you labeled it.

I hadn't thought the last shaft on the upper side was the push button itself, if that's what you mean Tony ?
Rather than this, the yellow lines on the picture are targeting the individual shafts and related named feature assigned to each

Yes exactly that Gilles. The yellow lines and the image show 3 shafts so was just pointing out that the actual part will have 2 shafts.

Yes we can obtain the same result with only 2 shafts (the inner shaft handling both encoder feature and push button at the same time), though CPFLIGHT done their EFIS Control building a solution with 3 shafts inside
