Developer needs job in EU

#1 Post by Stemulator »

Hi All,
A strange thing to put on this forum, but I'm a developer with 22+ years experience, the last 10 years in .net with c# and also have a recent master's degree. I have a little experience, self taught in IoT with C/C++ and arduino devices and this is an area I'd like to eventually work in, but for now I'm a web back end specialist.

My family and I would like to migrate to the EU, preferably Netherlands or German, ASAP so we can get residence before the end of the Brexit transition period.

Please PM for my CV and other information.

Thanks in advance!
Tony

There's always a shortage in software developers I think. You can look at websites like https://www.jobbird.com/nl or https://www.monsterboard.nl. There's a lot more of those, probably also ones that are aimed more towards software. 'Detachering', what seems to be called secondment in English, there's also a lot of those, like https://www.yer.nl.

If you're moving to the Netherlands, and you have the option, I would recommend to go to the east. Housing is a lot cheaper over there.

Thank you, very much appreciated. there has always been a shortage here, as far as I remember more than 22 years, but with Brexit, new tax regulations and poor government support for businesses during 4 months of lockdown, we're now seeing no jobs and 200 applications for jobs that used to get 1 or 2.

Not sure yet if we're bringing our mobile simulator with us or if we'll try to sell it in whole or in parts. Such a shame after we put so much money and effort in it.

Our location will be largely dictated by any job offers, especially as i don't yet speak dutch and i don't think my limited polish will help much there :)

Polish won't get you far, maybe in the Polish supermarkets we have here
The Netherlands have always been in the top 10 of countries speaking the best English as a second language, so I wouldn't worry about the language at first.
